Check that each photo is an actual readable JPG, PNG or WebP, at most 10 MB, with both sides between 256 and 5760 pixels and an aspect ratio from 2:5 to 5:2. All cast photos must total no more than 20 MB. Export a fresh supported image when needed; changing its filename does not convert it.

Read the error before replacing everything
A rejected portrait can have a format problem, an unreadable image, unsupported dimensions or too many bytes. A failed cast submission can also mean the combined photos exceed the total limit. Start with the visible error and check the affected file; you usually do not need to discard every portrait in the cast.
Photo validation and AI-result quality are different issues. A file can pass the upload rules yet still have a blurry or obscured face. Once the technical error is fixed, check whether the picture is a useful portrait. The goal is both a supported file and a clear casting reference.
Use an actual JPG, PNG or WebP
The studio checks image content, not just the extension. Renaming photo.heic to photo.jpg does not make it a JPEG, and renaming a PDF or screenshot document does not create a supported image. If your photo app uses another format, export or save a new JPG, PNG or WebP file.
Open the exported image locally to confirm that it is readable, then choose that new file in the intended cast slot. An empty file or damaged image will not work. Keep the original photo, and avoid repeatedly exporting an already compressed copy when a fresh export from the source is available.
Check both dimensions and the aspect ratio
Every photo must be 256–5760 pixels on each side. A 200 × 1000 image fails because its short side is below 256; a 6000 × 4000 image fails because one side exceeds 5760. The aspect ratio must also fall between 2:5 and 5:2, so an extremely narrow strip or wide panorama may be rejected despite valid individual dimensions.
For example, 1200 × 1600 is within the dimension and ratio bounds, although its format and byte size still need to pass. Crop excessive empty space or export a moderately sized portrait from your source. Enlarging a tiny face does not recover lost detail; find a better source photo when possible.
- Minimum: 256 pixels on both sides.
- Maximum: 5760 pixels on both sides.
- Aspect ratio: width divided by height from 0.4 to 2.5.
Stay within the photo and whole-cast limits
Each photo can be no larger than 10 MB, and all selected photos together must total no more than 20 MB. These are independent limits. A lead and two friends at 8 MB each pass the individual test but total 24 MB, so the complete cast is too large.
Export smaller copies from the original photos and review their faces before replacing the studio previews. For a six-person cast, aim comfortably below the combined limit instead of bringing every image close to 10 MB. Choose a useful balance of readable detail and file size; an enormous file is not a guarantee of better likeness.
Distinguish local drafts from submitted photos
Selecting photos and using Save cast keep the references in this browser without uploading them. To restore a draft, return to My studio on the same device and browser. Drafts are not synced backups, and clearing browser storage can remove them. A restored cast asks you to confirm photo permission again.
Payment or generation submission is the point at which the photos are uploaded privately. If an upload or connection error appears, keep the cast, check your connection and retry the existing step after reviewing the message. If you already paid the $5.99 one-time generation price, check the existing order first; do not pay again as a troubleshooting experiment.
Keep useful details for support
If a fresh supported export still fails, note the visible error, file format, pixel dimensions and file sizes, including the cast total. For a payment or generation problem, include the order reference and visible state. Contact support through the pricing page; do not send account credentials or payment-card details.
A FEW MORE DETAILS
Common questions.
Why does my JPG filename still get rejected?
The actual image content must be JPEG, PNG or WebP and readable. Renaming another format to .jpg does not convert it. Export a new supported image from your photo app.
Why is the cast too large when every photo is under 10 MB?
All photos combined must also stay at or below 20 MB. For example, three 8 MB photos total 24 MB and exceed the whole-cast limit.
Will replacing a photo fix a paid order automatically?
A paid order is bound to its original cast and settings. Check its state and contact support before changing course or paying again; a new draft is not a repair of an existing purchase.
